While I was on vacation this past week, my colleague Jennifer Brett on AJC Buzz covered a few items on my behalf. Here they are, in case you missed them. I’ll be posting fresh items of news that happened this past week that she didn’t catch starting tomorrow.

TUESDAY AUGUST 23

R&B singer and reality star Tamar Braxton and her manager husband Vince Herbert got into a sparring match at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead. TMZ reported that he bit her finger.

And Star 94.1 morning host Jenn Hobby published a note thanking Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for its wonderful care of her 11-month-old daughter Reese, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this month.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24

Ed Hartwell sold his home for a major loss amid his divorce to Keshia Knight Pulliam, a story that just keeps going on and on.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 25

Some folks criticized Tyler Perry for casting his latest TV show “Too Close to Home”with mostly non-black actors, the first time he has ever done so with a TV series.

“Stop asking me that damn question. People are people!” he said on Tom Joyner’s morning show heard on Kiss 104.1.

The drama, the first one on TLC, debuted August 22.

I had previously reported her pending arrival in July.
